Progress Log of Coursework

 We started our Coursework portfolio task  4 weeks ago,  as a group we decided  we wanted to use a contrasting genre to our preliminary task. Our preliminary task genre was mystery horror teen opening, so we thought of doing something different , a Romantic comedy. During the planning and research  we encountered some difficulties in relation to  targeting an credible audience  and we weren't sure what type of ethnic group . We then thought of a completely different genre teen drama. We were much more comfortable planning this genre because we felt we can relate to the  contents in a teen drama film themes such as violence, drugs, sex, peer pressure, relationships.
We started researching similar films to our chosen genre. we looked closely at Kidulthood, we then researched the production company ' Revolver Entertainments', who the film was written by 'Noel Clarke'  and also the primary target audience would be 'teenagers', however the secondary audience may be the government to make them aware of how tough life is for teenagers that live in London and parents to encourage parents to have discussions on how things are going on in their lives. 'Kidulthood'  this British drama follows a day in the lives of four poor youths living in an impoverished neighborhood in West London, where the pressure and desperation of poverty propels each of them towards the choice between a life of bleakness, violence, and crime, and the terrifying prospect of striving for a better life. We have started filming our 2 minutes opening film, we have filmed the first scene "classroom scene" and also our first film title. We think we have to  do more planning as a group around our filming and also finding suitable locations to film, so our coursework is much more organised.
